Granted, it’s hard not to hear the Reatards blowback on this 7”. It’s on Jay Reatard’s label. Ryan Wong drums in both the Reatards and Tokyo Electron. (He’s the one singing here.) As is to also be somewhat expected, it’s full of broken beer bottles, bleeding from uncomfortable places, and tattered glory. But, in addition, it does this: stands on its own. If you didn’t know the pedigree, it still sways and fights on its own legs as the needle slips through the grooves on both sides. Good stuff.
