The Backpatches of NYC (Collection 2): by Adel Souto (adelsouto.com)

I always ask the wearer before taking photos of the back of one’s jacket. At festivals, I’ve never heard a single person say, “No.” In New York City, not only have I heard, “No,” a few times—quite a number have said, “Fuck off!” Still, I’m keeping things going, so here goes round two.

For my second Razorcake installment, we have bands, bars, artists, and even gangs. Row one has an awesome hand-painted work by artist Skinner, a GBH parody for NYC’s skinhead crew DMS, and then one for Oakland’s crust punk outfit Dystopia. In the second row there is a patch for hometown hardcore heroes Cro-Mags, NY state capital’s straightedge act One King Down, and Iron Maiden’s Eddie the Head peeks out at you. In the last row, there’s one for the Brooklyn bar Tender Trap, a patch by artist Alexandria Noel, and end it on D.C.’s powerviolence trio Magrudergrind.
