subTERRAIN #68: $7, 8½” x 11”, print, 80 pgs.

Sep 22, 2015

You know how it is when you come across a new (to you) thing: it’s easy to assume that the current issue is done in the permanent template. Such was the case with this issue of subTERRAIN, a Canadian literary mag I assumed was always noir-themed because of the writing contained therein. Aside from the gorgeous layout, the writing throughout—fiction, poetry, reviews—shines, thanks to a talented stable of contributors. Turns out that the zine focuses on different genres/themes for each episode—based on the contents here, I’m psyched to check out subsequent issues. Recommended. –Michael T.
