Anger is probably the best musical emotion, due its sheer versatility. The description of “angry people music” already conjures up a particularly brutal pallet of sounds. Anger only implies the inflection of the notes, but does not determine speed or texture. Juggling between lightning fast and sludge metal slow, Risk offers up eight particularly raw specimens to examine. All in all, a thumbs up from me, though not a record I’d have ever have checked out on my own. I would compare it Dillinger Escape Plan, but I haven’t bothered to listen to them in like four years. Instead, I’ll contest that this record sounds like the parts of Leftover Crack when Stza pretends to not be into ska.
