RINGWORM: Hammer of the Witch: CD

Ringworm have been at it for quite some time now, although I can’t say I’ve ever listened to them much other than some comp tracks one of which was from a Slap-a-Ham compilation from the early ‘90s. If that song is an accurate representation of their earlier material then you could say they’ve done some evolving. I’m happy to report that the results are some of the best metalcore tracks I’ve heard from the genre in some time. Excellent death metal style riffs and blast beats supported with a backdrop of classic influences such as early NYHC and the timelessness of Slayer. I’ve seen people lose their shit over bands like Terror, Nails, and Hatebreed but, if given the chance, I could see Ringworm blowing them all off the stage.
