I can’t believe how quickly I warmed to this record and how good some of these songs are. It’s a weird blend of hooky guitars and I’m-so-fucked-up-let-me-get-thru-this-song lyrics from Portland of all places. They aren’t the most original songs, and it’s not the most original sound. But it’s the first time I’ve heard this style of music with this style of singing. And it works. I like it a lot, and I bet you will, too.
