“An interesting, somewhat democratic zine where you don’t have to worry about politics, status, or connections to be a part,” says the introduction. There’s a contingent of people who feel that certain aspects of punk speak to them but feel alienated by the politics many express in it—or perhaps “how” they’re expressed. For The Radvocate, this includes music, rollerblading, and tour stories. Not much more cohesion to this than that, as far as I can gather. Fun and effort went into making it. I am not part of the aforementioned contingent, however, and my politics bristled slightly at parts of this zine. If this sounds like your kind of thing, see how you feel. –Dave Brainwreck (The Radvocate, 3425 University Ave. Ste. 1430, San Diego, CA 92104)
