I’m sure this has happened to you—friends tell you about how you have to check out some movie, book, or band, only to be disappointed once you check it out for yourself. PEARS is a band that everyone I know who had heard and/or seen them told me that I would love them, that I had to see them.
On a recent trip to Colorado I was able to see PEARS on the last night of their tour with Teenage Bottlerocket—which was immediately preceded by a U.S. tour with Off With Their Heads and a European tour with Red City Radio. Basically, they’ve been touring non-stop for the past six plus months.
What I’m getting at is they must have been tired and ready to go home for some well-deserved down time. But when they hit the stage, you wouldn’t know it; from beginning to end, their set was non-stop energy. There was no disappointment that night.
Everyone was right.
