Noisy, blown-out hardcore with a definite dark metal influence (repetitive riff and guitar sound, rabid vocals). The songs run together and the guitar is effective at creating a cold and grim atmosphere. “Pain Forever” builds on the title track by retaining that cold guitar sound but puts some speed and urgency into the song via the drums and bass. The other side is “Forever Pain” which is decent, though much looser and more chaotic. It took me a couple listens to warm to it, but now I’m a convert. Apparently, these guys were supposed to play The Smell last year, but for some reason the club decided to say “No.” Some things never change. Too bad. I’d like to have seen them. Maybe in the future at another spot?
