NEW MOTELS: Domestic Life: CD

Jan 07, 2008

Normally, a band’s music evoking the acoustic side of the 1970s in any way would result in the instant eject-and-chuck-it-out-the-window reflex, but the catchiness of the tunes kinda kept said reflex at bay. While they are indeed up to their eyeballs in jangly acoustic guitars and mellow vibe, the songs are strong and filled with subtle hints of Bowie and others, making for a not-too-painful listen.
