Mythmakers and Lawbreakers: Edited by Margaret Killjoy 218 pgs.

This book is a collection of interviews with a veritable who’s who of anarchists in the world of art and literature (I think it’s a who’s who. Not a lot of household names here, folks). All involved wax philosophical on the topic of anarchy, what it means to them as writers and artists, and the way it affects their work. It’s interesting to read each individual viewpoint on anarchy. Perhaps the most notable interviewee in this collection is Alan Moore, famed writer of many a beloved graphic novel (Watchmen, V For Vendetta) and he is at no loss for words on the subject. (His answer to the first question posed is an astonishing eight pages long!) Also featured are insightful interviews with popular punk illustrator

Christy C. Road, author Derrick Jensen, and former Adbusters editor Jim Munroe. If you have an interest in anarchism and the work it inspires, this should quell any and all curiosities. Otherwise, you might not get a lot of mileage out of this book. Andy Conway (AK Press, 67 4-A 23rd St., Oakland, CA 94612)
