MDK: The Moonmaiden: 7” Flexi

May 09, 2012

It’s hard to tell if this is a black metal band influenced by doom/sludge or vice versa. Brings to mind the minimalism of early Darkthrone and the best riffs Eyehategod stole from Tony Iommi, yet I can’t say that these three songs have the same impact. Unadventurous and a tad bit uninspired, what with the artwork appearing to be straight up lifted from the pages of an issue of Heavy Metal. The best thing this record has going for it is the clear blue square flexi sheet that it’s pressed on.
