In all genres of music, most fans—myself included—take for granted the foundation that the drummer builds. This foundation allows the musicians and singers in front to connect to the audience. The Bags were one of the most high-energy Los Angeles punk bands. In this photograph—at Madame Wong’s in Chinatown, Los Angeles—the electricity and raw energy that Alice Bag created was barely captured by my camera. But to the left of the image is the Terry Graham. It’s the steady foundation of his drumming that allowed Alice to spin herself and the audience into an uncontrollable pun frenzy!
