This is the second release I have heard by the duo of Leiana on vocals and multi-instrumentalist Chuck Treece. Not really my cup of tea, but I can’t seem to want to get rid of their releases. At times I really like it, and others I don’t, so it doesn’t go into the bag of goodies to take in for trade. Real polished in a radio friendly way. Clean production that makes the music seem real bright. Vocals that a pulled back a bit with various effects that makes her vocals sound sort of dreamy yet sharp and biting. I haven’t listened to the previous release for a while. But this one seems to have more of an ‘80s SoCal beach punk sound that is under the rock sound of the songs. I’m kind of surprised that this band has not been picked up by commercial radio. These songs would fit right in with what Clear Channel calls alternative.
