LADDERBACK, THE: Trigger Themes: CD

Man, this band is funky. They have a lot of funky breakdowns in their screamy hardcore that tries to impose as many “parts” to each song as possible, therefore making it “math rock hardcore,” I guess. Or, come on, it’s just prog rock made by hardcore kids. The songs usually range around 3:25 minutes each, but, with the 4,000 parts to each song, they all seem longer then they’re supposed to be. There is no doubt they’re tight as hell on this recording and very talented. There is just too much going on. I need to go lay down. I’m gonna invent a new genre and call it “Showoff-Core.”
