This guy plays the Fest in Gainesville every year. It fits right in with the folk element of some of the Gainesville stuff, like Whiskey & Co. stylistically, at least. Josh Small is from Falls ChurchVA, a small suburban township in central VA that is away from the politics of WashingtonDC and the big city lights of NYC. The idea seems to lean toward a mountain man approach to modern living. The music is mellow and very folky with banjo. If you like bluegrass, Bob Dylan, and maybe, as a stretch, some Crooked Fingers stuff, you might like Josh Small. Mellow out by the campfire with a bottle of whiskey to keep you warm with this one.
