Finally, a proper new record from Gentleman Jesse And His Men (I can’t believe I spent money on their Christmas 7”.) Their self-titled 2008 album sat on my turntable for months. Two tracks of pure power pop (a phrase dropped all too often, but GJ&HM truly is—and were even given the honor of backing Paul Collins as his Beat on a 2009 tour.) The A-side is upbeat, B-side slows things down but neither disappoint. Here’s to hoping a new album is coming soon. Bonus points for cool cover art as GJ&HM as zombies.
