FLATLINERS, THE: Cavalcade: CD

Sep 02, 2010

This is a weird one for me. I feel like I should like it more, but I never get the urge to put it on. It’s fast, melodic, skate punk (with a couple of reggae/ska-ish numbers) from Canada, which usually means A+ in my book, but not this time. This falls into the weird middle ground that bands like No Use For A Name and Lagwagon occupy for me. They are bands that are kind of just there. I don’t hate them, but I can never get myself excited for them. Even the song with a virtually all of Dillinger Four making a cameo, “Bleed,” failed to really register. I get the feeling that maybe this is one of those bands I need to see live before I completely write them off though, as maybe that’s what it takes for them to click.
