Fest 3, The: DVD

Jun 04, 2007

The Fest is the weekend to end all weekends. If you’ve never been—it’s worth saving your pennies for, and if you’ve been—you understand. This DVD is three hours of live footage from Fest 3 (2004). One thing about the Fest is there are so many shows going on at the same time you have to prepare yourself for making crucial decisions. You have to get prepared to sacrifice seeing a band that you really, really want to see, for seeing a band that you really, really, really want to see. And there are also a ton of bands that you probably don’t even wanna be twenty feet within of the venue while they’re performing. This DVD allows you to see what’s going on at all those other shows while you were getting wasted and seeing your favorite bands in the world. This DVD also gave me the chance to see how boring indie rock really is. ‘Cause I knew it was boring, I’m not stupid, but holy fuckin’ shit, it looks painfully boring! The music sucks, the crowd is standing stiffer than a starch junkie on payday, and everyone is wearing their shirts! These people fucking missed the train to the Fest I know. I’ll take Billy Reese Peters, Tiltwheel, and Vena Cava, thank you very much. There’s sixty bands playing sixty-five songs on this DVD, it’s kinda cool, but I’d just save the money for my October plane ticket to Fest VI. Be there or be somewhere stupider. –Daryl (No Idea, PO Box 14636, Gainesville, FL 32604)
