As the second of two Bison reissues, this is the one that really highlights the songwriting skills of Baz Oldfield. He has a great turn of phrase and, as serious as some of the themes might be, he does his level best to inject humor into his lyrics wherever possible. Add to that frequent references to his (and my) hometown of Newport, Wales, and listening to these songs guarantees a sense of belonging and a big grin across my face, with “Ringland Tuxedo” leading the way on both counts. Great melodic punk rock swathed in the meaty guitar sound of Dickie Hammond.
