DIRT DRESS: Donde La Vida No Vale Nada: LP

May 08, 2013

This record is heavy on floor tom beats. The opening song, “Stray Cats,”sets a pace that starts with a Cramps-style party beat. It’s a jumpy song that sounds like it would come across fun live. The album moves into slower fare like “Religion/Drugs” where the dreamier pacing allows the guitars to shine a little more. The repetitive vocal patterns and drumbeats get tiresome. As the album keeps going, it travels along a narrow speed scale.
