DEEP FRIED ZINE MPLS #6: $1, 8½” x 11”, 26 pgs.

Apr 28, 2016

One of the best meldings of punk rock and junk food since the Faction decided to go get Cokes and take up the “Fast Food Diet.” This particular issue is the “arts and culture issue,” so that includes a photo gallery of famous people eating hamburgers, a short survey of skateboard decks rocking junk food designs, and a very classy history of Del Taco and Taco Bell written in the style of Charles Dickens (titled “A Tale of Two Tacos,” naturally). There are a couple fast food-centered interviews with the bands togetherPangea and Cherry Cola about their fast food preferences on the road but, personally, the zenith of this zine’s musical dalliances is the re-written lyrics to Drake’s “Hotline Bling” called “Deep Fried Bling.” Just try not to replace the lyrics the next time it comes on in the in the grocery store or mall with this extra greasy version.
