If I had any real problems with the first wave of post-punk, it’s that I never found the aggression in it that I really enjoyed about its punk rock predecessors. Modern music seems to finally be correcting this grave injustice in musical history. Dasher plays a brand of noisy post-punk whose vocals take more of a hardcore edge. The music is well-constructed and layered, but beautiful in its primitive anger. The only real problem this record has is the kerning on the cover art. I could have sworn that this band was named “Das Her” until I googled their name. Grade: B+.
