Chris Boarts Larson Photo Column - His Hero Is Gone

Thinking back to when I moved to Richmond, it seems like a different life. I went to lots of house shows with cool bands and met these fellas from Tennessee.  I would say that this was an under-appreciated show, but it really wasn’t.  People knew His Hero Is Gone and were stoked to see them.  It was a good show. The confined edges of this photo remind me of how it felt to be in such a contained space—such an epic band with such a large sound.  When I go through the Rolodex of my mind, I’m really glad I had the chance to see His Hero Is Gone. Undoubtedly, they are one of the bands that people would most like to see reunite and play again today.
