This band keeps almost being a ska band. Like, something happens at the beginning of each song that makes me think it might be ska and then it’s not. That’s not a complaint, it’s just descriptive. I think the best way to describe it is a more punk Best Coast, with that sort of ethereal vocals and clean, surfy guitars with a bit of a faster pace but also deep into a Ronettes vibe. Like, I’d bet there’s satin and tattoos involved, which I dig. I will want to spin this in the summer, maybe while drinking some lemonade out of those brown ’70s drinking glasses.
