Remember when Van Morrison pooped out that utterly bizarre, nearly unlistenable Contractual Obligation session for Bang Records? The one with cuts like “Ring Worm,” “Want a Danish,” and “The Big Royalty Check”? Yeah, Adam Healton & The Situation’s album, III, is a lot like that. With nonsensical lyrics, out of tune guitars, antiquated synths, and schizo samples, each ear-grating track is certainly memorable, albeit difficult to digest. Adam Healton specializes in a far-out, lo-fi style a la Ariel Pink, and ups the creativity ante with each proceeding song.
