Second chances don’t come easy in this world; that’s why I’m pretty stoked to revisit The Vicious Rumor. You see, I reviewed the cassette version of this release in these very pages maybe two years ago and my recollections of my original review said something along the lines of “mid-tempo punk rock from PDX” or something equally as lame. Well, it’s still pretty mid-tempo and still from Portland, but I don’t know—maybe it’s the current political climate we find ourselves in or something—but the urgent, grim nature of this album seem to resonate a little deeper on the LP format.
