65’S, THE: Wolves and Men: CDEP

Aug 16, 2017

The brainchild of Joe Pugsley and John Steele, The 65’s are an interesting blend of poppy garage punk meets alt-country. The five tracks on Wolves and Men combine the digital-only release New Fun in Hell, and two new tracks from their as-yet-unnamed forthcoming second LP. While not initially enamored with how clean this sounded, Pugsley’s rough and tumble vocals add some much-needed grit to the polish. –Paul J. Comeau (Pyrrhic Victory, pyrrhicvictoryrecordings.com)
