I went to the Offbeat Bar in LA to see Pu$$y-Cow for the first time—surprisingly, since I’ve known the band’s front man, Joe Dana, for so long. Their set was exactly as I expected it to be: streamers were flying from all directions, raunchy stage banter and, of course, Joe took his pants off during the set.

Pu$$y-Cow’s set ended with Joe on the floor in front of the stage, stripped down to American Flag undies and singing into the mic as streamers were thrown and unraveled around him. Some real party rock’n’roll shit.

The Flatliners always bring a great show and this one was no different. The crowd was dancing, crowd surfing, and singing along all night long!

I dug through some old photos to find this great one of Snow Roller a couple years back. I met Snow Roller for the first time at a house show shortly after I moved to L.A. and since then, I do what I can to see them whenever they’re in town.

On my second occasion seeing them, I snapped this trippy cool shot with a glass prism and enhanced the colors to put a new spin on the regular old “warehouse show pic.”
The band recently put out a new record Y2k that I recommend with my whole heart.

The guys in Decent Criminal were kind enough to take me along for a couple days while they toured up California from San Diego to San Francisco. I caught this shot of their bassist, Jesse, right before their set ended at Bottom of the Hill in SF.

The room was packed, despite competing with Alkaline Trio who were playing the city on the same day. A lot of the crowd was filled with Decent Criminal’s local fans in the Bay Area, so people were singing along and having a great time. I love how this photo captures the crowd—those bright colors and dragged light make it look like a whole new world.

After Decent Criminal’s set, I watched The Flatliners for the third night in a row, then bid farewell to my van-mates from the weekend.

Thanks again to Decent Criminal for having me out! Look out for some cool new music from these guys!

JSR toured from Denver and played a show in a fairly new warehouse spot in Fullerton, California. JSR played a mix of old and new songs in their set and I was drawn in almost instantly—probably because of the emo/ folksiness of Alex Pelissero’s voice. I left with a copy of their newest album and have been listening to it since the show!

I’ve been on a Banner Pilot listening kick lately, so I chose to share this photo of them at Fest last year. The venue was packed and I spent most of their set shooting from side stage and watching the crowd. Banner Pilot fans are wild. I swear they didn’t slow down the whole set. All I kept thinking was how badass it would be if I could crowd surf with them and take some shots, but I was just a little too drunk. That will have to be an adventure for another time.

Tanya Delgado of L.A.-based band, Failing Up rocking the patio at Characters in Pomona Calif. Tanya always has such great energy during their set and loves to interact with the crowd—especially during their song “Parasite,” a killer anthem about the disgusting parasite living in The White House. Always a great experience for the fan of fast, aggressive, and catchy punk bands.

Direct Hit will always be one of my favorite bands to shoot because of the amount of energy they bring to every show! No matter if they’re playing to hundreds of fans or thirty-five friends, they always have so much fun on stage and really interact with the audience.

I finally got to catch the Seattle punk band, Burn Burn Burn on their home turf at The Kraken. I love this photo because everyone looks like they’re having a great time! It’s always so neat to experience a band play a hometown show. I love how everyone in the room seemed to be friends and were interacting with the band during their set. It’s so interesting to experience that in a new city for the first time!

My friends in Bad Cop/ Bad Cop were kind enough to get me and my camera into this super cool show where they opened for the one and only Alice Bag! It was such an awesome experience to finally see Alice Bag live and I truly had a blast. It only got better when she Bad Cop/ Bad Cop joined her on stage to sing a song off her new album, Blueprint.
