Deb Frazin Photo Column—Dee Skusting & The Rodents

Dee Skusting & The Rodents has just released their debut CD Freedom Lost, and I’m pretty stoked about it. (I always get stoked when a band releases a flawless album, and this is one of those albums—it kicks ass from start to finish). Dee Skusting (vocals and guitar), Johnny Rodent (drums) and Chris Clark (bass) are dynamic together (in the studio and on stage).

The CD starts out with their compelling new single “Politicians Grave” (a song that will stay stuck in your head like a kid in a claw machine), and continues on with angry, political-themed songs peppered throughout the CD (think Naked Aggression crossed with Hole). Dee Skusting’s voice is powerful and raw (reminiscent of early Courtney Love), and burns its way through this gem of an album like fire and gasoline.
