At first I was apprehensive to listen to this record like this. Streaming? Not really my thing. Grabass Charlestons? Definitely my thing. I look down and I'm wearing a Grabass shirt, which statistically isn't that uncommon as I wear it quite often, for extended periods of time, but it says something. With this band, I've always appreciated the total package. The music, the graphic violence, the wrenching and triumphant lyrics, the people and their personal stories. For a little more context, I'm pretty sure I was inspired to break up with a girlfriend by a song on Ask Mark Twain. This band holds a place in my heart and I didn't wanna short change myself by listening to their first full-length in seven years by spinning it for the first time on my laptop.

But as the playlist closes out, I don't feel short changed. I'm not left with that ambivalent feeling most pre-release MP3s give me. I'm reminded of why I'm wearing this shirt. Why this band is so special. The world may never give them their due, but I'll try. I’m counting down the days till the LPs ship out. I highly suggest you pick one up as well.
